Recap in Pictures

Since I missed the last four months of blogging, and I am home with Parker who has a fever, I thought I'd make a few quick collages of pictures!

October

We went to California so half of these pictures are from this trip - getting his own headphones for the plane, playing and sleeping in the sand, and getting ice cream by the beach! We also went to the pumpkin patch with my dad! He started his cave (not forts!) obsession and we made his costume for Halloween.

November

In November we got a new puppy that we named Piper but Parker decided Coco Puff was a better name! We decorated for Christmas and went to the tree lighting downtown and stayed in a hotel - which Parker loved! We moved his teepee into his room which is where he sleeps occasionally. He is a total bug lover - he catches the stink bugs that come in from the chimney and lets them out with their friends and in the picture at the bottom he's chatting with a giant spider.

December

I hardly had any photos from December but I think that's because I was so tired from being pregnant and I had a lot of family in town. Also, my sister takes a brazillion pictures so I didn't. I better go to her Facebook and save some :) December brought Parker's newest trend...nose picking! Luckily after about two weeks it started to fade somewhat. He also really started to get into PB&J sandwiches...especially as a shishkabob. He got lots of fun games and toys for Christmas; he really loves board games now like Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Hi Ho Cherry-O, and The Sneaky Squirrel game.

January

January brought on sleep issues - he seems like he still needs a nap but many nights he stays up late because he just can't fall asleep. So many nights we find him in the hall just waiting quietly. We also rode the train at Greenwood Mall twice and he loved it! We've also had some nicer weather that called for a visit to the park!

I will try to update a few more times this month!

Summer Vacation - Week #5

Well another week of summer has gone by! Last Monday Parker & I ventured into my classroom to do a little bit of work. At first he was squirrely and I thought I wasn't going to get anything done but then he settled in and liked playing with some of my things in the room. Of course he had several bursts of energy where he would run out the door and yell "Parker running away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Tuesday we brought Pizza King to Clint at work. He works way out in Coatsville in the middle of cornfields so they were happy to have us bring them lunch! On the way out there we ran into a torrential rain storm! On the way home it just poured! Everything was flooded!

Wednesday I went with Augusta to the 1st Here We Grow Again Teacher Sale in Brownsburg. I have gone to the HWGA Children's sale several times, so I was expecting something similar. However, they crammed 10,000+ items into a tiny building with a bajillion people. So Parker and I went in for about 10-15 minutes and then ran out as fast as we could! It was way too crowded for me. Since I had Parker, I also was ready to go out. He was very well behaved though. It may have been the couple powdered donuts he was eating but either way...I'll take it!

Thursday...hmmm. There's always one day that I flat out don't remember!

Friday Clint had to work due to all the rain so Parker and I just stayed at home and hung out. Then in the evening we went to Mike & Betsy's house to find out what they are having in November....they're having a baby girl! Parker had fun driving all of Griffin's vehicles. He also loved watching all the chickens that has Mike has. He was standing there singing "Old Macdonald had a farm, e i e i o"

Saturday we went to Ady's 2nd birthday party! Parker loved playing in the pools and eating cake!

Yesterday we went to the pool because it was practically 100 degrees! Then we grilled out and made a fire to roast marshmallows! Parker is still not a fan.

Thursday I leave for California for the weekend to see my sisters and cousins! I am so excited! I'm also a little sad that Parker isn't going but I know it'll be a good time!!

He loves to try and make daddy coffee for when he gets home. It usually just consists of sugar though!

He loves to jump & dance.

He's getting really good at riding his tricycle.

He is obsessed with watching youtube videos of buffalos, helicopters, trains, tractors, etc. They're just videos of these vehicles moving but he loves them!

21 Months Old

I am a little overdue with this monthly update but we have been buys! Clint just had surgery on Friday to repair a torn pec muscle and tendon. Boo! He is in a sling for 4-6 weeks so I am on heavy Parker duty...fingers crossed he doesn't pester Clint too much!

So for some updates...

can count to three often...or sometimes just one and three ;)

can name all the Mickey Mouse clubhouse members

regularly puts 3-5 words together for a sentence

can answer simple one part questions

can mop like no one's business

occasionally pees in his potty

can name more animals than I can count...and make a ton of animal sounds

loves puzzles...he really enjoys his magnetic fishing puzzles from Aunt Lindsay

also loves this magnetic animal puzzle book from my mom

loves to color especially with markers

is obsessed with Rice Krispies...eats like 3 or 4 bowls a day sometimes

is finally completely fitting into his 18 month pants
loves dinos, trains, and Barney
can almost put his pants on by himself
can name all familiar people

17 Months

P-Man is 17 months already! Time flies when little boys are busy and getting into everything!

Parker loves to climb everything in this house! He has also developed a love for running! I love watching him wiggle back and forth when he runs...it is pretty funny. He is learning new words everyday! Here are some new ones:

*YoYo (for ZoZo - Zoe's nickname)

*Ratroon (racoon)

*occasionally peas (please)

He can say a few phrases/thoughts:

*My mama and dada (when he sees our pictures)

*My bubbles

*Byebye kitty or byebye room or byebye bubbles (he actually tells everything byebye now)

He is also doing well with responding to questions by shaking his head yes or no. It isn't always correct when he answers yes but he sure knows the word no! When he nods yes it is too cute because he nods very slowly and it is very exaggerated.

We also are prepping for potty training! He has had a potty for a while now and we bought some undies! We have used potty language and he seems to somewhat understand some. He also has gone potty on the floor a couple times when he was running naked after bath and he came and got me saying 'uh oh' and then he ran and pointed. He also wants to wipe himself when we change his diaper. So over fall break, we are going all in! I'll be sure to report back...because I am sure everyone is so excited to hear ;)

Someone had a stomach bug today and has a very bad diaper rash so we tried out the new undies tonight because they were soft on his buns and let some air in.

Summer Fun!

School was officially over for me on Monday and I am loving it! I had a rough year and I am so happy to hang out with my little man Parker! Added bonus...my mom and stepdad got here Sunday night. Dale left this evening buy my mom will be here until July 1st. She is teaching two workshops while she is here which is why she's staying so long. We have LOTS planned so stay tuned for plenty of crafting!
