Life has been crazy busy at our house the last month or so! We decided to take our pool out so Clint has been working on that all the stinking time! We hired someone to do it, but he was a bust so Clint has put in a billion hours to try and get it done! It is finally done as of yesterday!! We even have some grass already growing! Our new fence will be here next Friday and then it will go up! I may do a big update on that whole mess of a project later.

We also did a mini bedroom/closet makeover! We had some built in wall speaker that I wanted taken out but that meant drywall work, which Clint hates. So we decided to take them out and put up a plank wall! So last weekend we stained all the boards in about two hours. Then Clint decided on making five cuts for each row and got them all cut in a little over an hour. Then it took him about two hours total to hang them all! It looks great! I need to do some touch up painting and he is going to install the outlets. But I love it!
(pardon the terrible picture)
We also took out the standard row of shelving in our closet and made two rows on each side and the back wall currently has our ladder bookshelves. Clint will make some built-in shelves when he has some down time. There is so much more room now!
Parker is pretty much obsessed with the outdoors! As soon as we get home everyday we have to play outside for what seems like forever!
He loves his tricycle, his big truck, his wagon, his water table, his slide, and his wheelbarrow among a boatload of other outdoor activities. He is also obsessed with going on bike rides now that he has a cool bike trailer to ride in!
School is over this week so I have been super busy with planning my last assessments, awards, end of the year activities, and trying to clean up my room while still thinking about things I want to do next year! It's a vicious cycle!
We have several fun things planned this summer already and I'm sure we'll add some more! Clint & I are thinking about going to Dale Hollow over 4th of July weekend, I am going to Santa Cruz, California to see my sisters and cousins, my mom will be out here for a week to visit, and Clint and I want to take Parker to the beach for a 3 or 4 day mini vacay! We don't have any major projects going on around here for the rest of the summer so we hope to relax and enjoy the neighborhood pool this year...no cleaning or maintaining!
I'll leave you with a few more fun pics of my main squeeze:
My little love bug Parker Jameson is two years old today! These past two years have flown by crazy fast! He has changed so much in these last two years but I have loved every minute!
He is full of energy and talks constantly, amazing me with his expansive vocabulary along with his inquisitive mind! He is curious as can be with everything that is happening around him and he is constantly repeating everything we say and retaining it too!
He loves to climb, run, dance, paint, push things, rake/mop/shovel, and pretty much do anything that involves movement!
He loves to ride in daddy's truck, watch school buses and garbage trucks, listen to the birds, firetrucks, and trains, watch Paw Patrol and Planes: Fire & Rescue,
I couldn't be happier with how he is growing and even though I love the stage he is always in, it is also so fun to watch him change as he grows!
For his birthday I left school as soon as the kids left so I could pick him up early! We played outside, went on a walk when daddy got home, went to Target and picked out a few goodies and then went to Pizza King (he calls it choo choo pizza) because he loves the train! Then he stopped and had some ice cream at Cold Stone. We watched his newest favorite DVD, Truck Tunes (we have both 1 & 2). Then we played for a little while before bed. Funny side note - I brought him to his room and then went to get his toothbrush and came back to all his bed things on the floor. He said "change sheets mommy" because my child loves cleanliness! So we're getting new sheets out and he said "worm puked, so change sheets" meaning his glow worm that he sleeps with...hahaha so Clint told Parker he better hold worm so he feels better so he picked him up and hugged him. He's such a silly goober!
A week later and we are back from California! I always mean to post an update right away but this time I came back to a very busy week! More on our other life news later!
More importantly, a large batch of pictures were uploaded to my computer from my phone...and my sister's and mom's phones. So instead of trying to decide which pics I liked best or adding them all, I made a little video montage of all the pictures!
So enjoy :)
We did lots of fun things while visiting my mom and Dale. We hit up IKEA like usual, went to the beach several times, visited the aquarium, and generally had lots of snacks and playtime!
Overall, Parker seemed to like the beach. However, he didn't enjoy it as soon as we got there each time. He seemed to really dislike the sand between his fingers and toes because he stood there like a starfish with everything spread apart. He got used to it though after a few minutes and liked using his gigantic shovel to dig and he also liked smashing our sand castles. He liked the water and wasn't bothered too much that it was a little chilly.
He loved digging in my mom's dirt pile (she's working on getting a pool put in) and running around her yard.
He loved her kitties (mercury and Persephone) and of course her dog Luna (Luna Tuna). My mom has a catio (cat patio) that she built that is connected to her bedroom window. Parker loved playing with the cats as they went in and out of the house. He loved locking them outside and then go out to see them!
He also enjoyed playing in the Batmobile and with the pile of toys my mom has collected.
He had fun helping cook and also washing dishes. Big surprise!
He also enjoyed getting in the hot tub! It was the perfect height and temperature for him!
He adjusted pretty well to the time change after the first day and he was a pretty good sleeper! The first morning we woke up at 5:30 but I managed to get him to go back to sleep for a little bit. The other mornings weren't too early either!
He was really good on the plane ride out and back home. He almost had a mini meltdown as we landed in California but Hilary & I managed to avert it mostly. He really just wanted to get off the plane...but don't we all! Then on the way home he was knocked out but when they turned on the lights he got a smidge cranky, With this being his 4th flight, I have become a pretty good packer for our flights! LOTS of snacks and some new books & toys last pretty well. Also, fitting in a nap for half the ride always helps (especially if I need one too!).
This was his last free flight since he turns two on Thursday :( Although I am kind of glad he will have his own seat the next time we go somewhere...he's getting a little too big and it will be nice to have the extra room!
I'm a little behind on the blogging front over here but I have been super busy as of late. Obviously I take plenty of pictures and videos but finding the time to upload and share them is where I slack! I will blame school, toddler life, and house work. Or just lazy bones!
Parker will be 2 next month! Where has the time gone? I keep thinking of the saying "The days are long, but the years are short" and it is so accurate. I randomly catch glimpses of Parker and see how big he is getting or how much older he is looking and I feel like everything has just flashed by in a minute! It's crazy how slow time moves when you're young but when you get older it goes so quickly!
