I've never been really big on New Year's resolutions but this I decided to set a few or maybe call them goals...nothing big but things to focus on this year.
I meant to update the blog about our Christmas earlier but we were so busy with family and doing fun stuff!
My mom and Dale got here the Saturday before Christmas so we hung out pretty much every doing a lot of nothing leading up to the holiday. Christmas morning Hilary and Scott came down and we opened gifts with our mom and Dale. My dad and Gail came over for dinner that night too.
Lindsay flew in Saturday morning and we opened gifts with Dad and Gail that afternoon.
We all received too many good gifts and Parker had fun opening his gifts!
I actually didn't take hardly any photos on Christmas or any of the days we celebrated...oops. So this is all we've got! Either way, we had fun and enjoyed seeing everyone!
We have officially entered the phase where I feel silly saying __ months old...which means I am going to have to soon start saying 2 years old. Sniff. How did that happen?!
Mr. Fancy Pants has been growing like a weed lately! He is 33.5 inches tall and 24 pounds.
After I typed the above sentence I entered in his weight and height into the app I've used since he was born and laughed! On October 29 he weighed 26 pounds and was 33 inches tall. So apparently these long legs I keep seeing are all a figment of my imagination!
I will say that his language is the thing that is definitely growing rapidly! I know I mentioned that last month but his vocabulary and phrases grow every day! He loves to tell us to move if we're in his way; when I'm laying down sometimes he says "mama get up"; his last piece of cheese was under a napkin and he said "Parker cheese, gone?" He seems very eager to learn new words too. If I say a word or tell him what something is, he usually repeats it or tries to.
He learned how to do 'shh' and its so cute! When you tell him to close his eyes they scrunch up in the cutest way! He is practicing his jumping...usually in his bed. He is pretty brave sometimes, trying to jump off things if you are close by. He likes to play catch but mostly if you are the one catching.
He went to the doctor this morning for a recheck on his left ear which has had an infection and it still hasn't gone away. Hopefully this round of antibiotics will help because he has had a terrible cough since Thanksgiving.
From November
loves his beanbag
We went to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving and he really enjoyed looking at their sheep.
too cool for school
We went downtown for the lighting of the Christmas tree and he loved the dance floor!
He finishes every drop of his cereal.
I told him to smile.
He used the fire mitt to help spread all the branches in the tree.
He also 'helped' hang the ornaments.
From December
He loves Clint's battery train.
I opened a bag of black beans and chickpeas and he loves playing with these!
counting his money when he was sick

relaxing at Jennifer's
He loves the blow up Rudolph.
We checked out Christmas at the Zoo for a little bit.
Mr. Reindeer

playing with his gingerbread nativity set
wearing his new slippers
he likes to wear my shoes when he is decorating the window
I'm a few days late but P-Man is 19 months old! This last month has shown so much development!
hehehe
His speech has really gown so much lately! He is putting together phrases more and more and phrases that are more of a command/request like "dada play" or "mama go" "mamma up". These requests are funny too because if you don't do what he is asking, he is likely to try and push or pull you to what or where he wants!
For fall break, Clint, Parker, and I took a trip to California to visit my mom and step dad. We went to the beach twice, checked out IKEA, went to the park, and played!
Our flight left at 6 am so we let Parker sleep in his clothes for the plane so we wouldn't have to mess with getting him dressed! He slept for the first 2 hours and then we had a short layover on Phoenix. The second flight was slightly delayed once we boarded so he chowed down on an apple and a bazillion other snacks! He was so good on the plane though!
He loved my mom's dog Luna.
playing with grandpa
sitting in timeout...this is my "oh jeez" look
We visited an auto museum and got to see the Batmobile!
His favorite spot at mom's is the big window seat!
Getting sleepy at the beach!
We went to the dog beach so he enjoyed seeing all the dogs run around like crazbos!
Dancing to Mickey Mouse.
showing off the boots grandma made
just lounging
feeding the ducks and HUGE koi at the Japanese Gardens
chilly water!
building a sand castle
He loved playing with the bubbles.
He also enjoyed the water table...and flicking water everywhere!
He liked walking Luna.
checking out the tide pools at Laguna Beach
breakfast by the window
too cool for Cali
He loved Mercury...except when he got a bite!
We made sure that he didn't take a nap before getting to the airport...so he was pretty tired before we got on the plane! But it worked out because he took a nice long nap!
We had a bunch of fun but recovering from a trip was much harder this time! Boy do toddlers need a schedule and naps!
