Beckham - Seven Months

My handsome little boy is 7 months old!We are officially on the upswing to one year and I can't believe how fast it has gone. Except with my being home, I also feel like time is moving at a much slower pace and that is ok too!

Measurements: Two weeks ago Beckham weighed 18 pounds 6 ounces. I am pretty sure he has gained several more ounces so he is probably somewhere between 18 and a half and 19 pounds.  His 6-9 month clothes still fit good but most of his fleece sleepers are starting to get tight in the booty! It can be really hard to button or zip right around his diaper especially in the middle of the night in the dark. This little boy has a serious booty!

Here is how tall he is...hehehe.

Milestones: Not much has changed in a while. He loves to sit! If you lay him down he is perfectly content to just stay there; forget about rolling over either way unless there is something really worth trying to get. And if he doesn't get it in one or two tries, he says 'nope!' He has started to lean over when sitting, so I am hoping that is a movement towards crawling! I know I'm asking for trouble, but I'm excited for him to start crawling!

It has taken every bit of a month for him to start getting into eating solid foods but he is finally there! He gets excited for most foods and anytime you're eating, he thinks he's entitled to a nibble! He really seems to enjoy pretty much everything I have given him. Parker loves to help try and feed him too. Although it can be hard because he loves to grab the spoon right out of your hand!

He also loves to dance while he's sitting:

Schedule: He still has a predictable routine and it hasn't changed much since 3 months old. Most of the time he still likes to take 4 naps but he is starting to take longer naps FINALLY! Hallelujah! I thought I was destined to have 2 children who only like 30 minute naps. And seriously, what can you get done in 30 minutes? That's right, nothing. But finally Beckham is napping 45 minutes to sometimes an hour or hour and a half. He has even had several 2 hour naps! So some days he naps 3 times. Now that I feed him solid foods he doesn't always get so sleepy or cranky in the evenings though he has been known to have evening grouchiness.

I am still waiting ever so patiently for him to sleep mostly through the night. I'm not even asking for all night - just for him to wake just once. But alas, he still wakes around 10pm, 1 or 2am, and 4 or 5am. Someday. Until then, I'll be glad I am not working!

Such a cute and happy boy!

7 Months Old

Big Milestones: Parker can roll all over the place now! He can roll both directions easily and definitely uses rolling as a means to get somewhere. He can turn himself really well while holding himself up on his hands and the last few days he was moved himself backwards. So no forward movements yet but I think he will be doing that soon!

He is definitely an independent sitter now and usually only falls down if he is reaching for something really far away or if Zoe nudges him. He is getting better at reaching for things and holding himself up as he starts to topple over.

Right after he turned 6 months he looked at Clint one morning at breakfast and said dada! It was so cute :)

We started feeding Parker solids right after he turned 6 months and it took almost three weeks before he actually started eating them. He was not interested in food at the beginning so we had Jennifer (our babysitter) try feeding him and after a few days he started letting her feed him! He seems to really like pears, avocado, sweet potatoes, bananas, and applesauce. We have also fed him oatmeal which he sometimes seems to enjoy especially when I mixed in bananas. I mixed blueberries in today and he didn't seem too thrilled. I am really enjoying trying all these foods with him and planning what to try next!

Measurements: About a week after he turned 6 months he weighed 16 pounds 13 ounces and was 27 inches long. I don't think he has grown much more since then but I think he may have gained a little weight since then. He is still wearing 6-9 month clothes except most of the pants he has in that size are too big and way too long. Luckily I kept some 3-6 month pants out.

Daily Schedule: He still naps and eats about every three hours if it's a regular day. However he has really started to boycott naps; especially when he goes to Jennifer's. For some reason he has not liked naps the last couple of months. He has adjusted pretty well to me going back to work and going to daycare.

Check the blog out tomorrow for some of his 6 months pictures (that I never got around to sharing!).

Now enjoy a couple fun shots from today:
