Spring Break in Destin

I may not be teaching this year but I still got to go on a spring break vacation :) Clint was really slow at work one week and a couple of his friends were going to be in Destin, so we decided on a whim to go down there as well! I booked a condo on AirBnB on Sunday and we left Indy on Tuesday night. We went the last week of March for 4 nights and it was just right!

We left about 9:30 on Tuesday night and made it down there with stopping just twice! Both times it was because we needed gas. The boys did great driving overnight and slept really well. It was also nice driving at night because there was no traffic!

Because we booked last minute there wasn't a lot of accommodations to choose from. However, the condo we booked was great! It was in the middle of  Destin so everything was close by. Our little 'neighborhood' of condos had a nice pool and it was right across the street from the beach. We also had a nice view of a lake out our back door. We had a full kitchen which we liked because we ended up bringing most of the food we ate. We went out for pizza one night and breakfast one morning. The pizza was pretty good but the breakfast was ok. Now that we are traveling with 2 kids, we would rather not spend a lot of time at restaurants. There's not much worse that waiting forever for a table with a tired toddler or baby just to wait more at the table for you food. We also saved a ton of money by bringing and making our food! 

The water was a bit chilly but the weather was great! We enjoyed going for wagon walks, getting ice cream, floating in the pool, and digging all over the beach! We are super excited to take our beach babes to Myrtle Beach in July!
