Beckham - 48 Weeks

Little big man is 48 weeks old! He is getting closer to being back to his normal, healthy self finally! His pink eye came back just a bit in one eye last weekend but I think it has cleared up now. Currently I am on the plane, flying to Hawaii ;) so if his eye isn't clear, Aunt Lindsay will have fun getting his eye drops in!

Likes: knocking over towers of blocks, playing with Parker, being chased while crawling, trying to pet the cat, anything we are eating, Parker's sippy cups (though he hasn't quite figured out how to get anything out of them), feeding the dog/throwing his food on the floor

Dislikes: laying still for diaper changes

What's New in the Last Week: He has got clapping down! He loves to wave to everyone, except it's this silly "stick your arm straight out and hold it stiff" wave.

The day before we left he took several steps! He took the littlest baby steps and it was so cute!

He rode the train at Greenwood Mall and he loved it! He was grinning so big and hung his head out of the window the whole ride. And of course he waved to everyone :)

I may see if Lindsay wants to do a guest post for his weekly update next week since she's in charge until we get back! That is, if she is still alive from over exhaustion ;)

Beckham - Eleven Months

Holy smokes! Eleven months! One more picture is all I have left to take...and as you can see, that's probably a good thing! This little boy is such a mover! He does not like to sit still! That's probably why he keeps getting bumps and bruises though too. He wants so badly to walk! He pretty much cruises all over the house, balancing on the couch, fridge, the walls, dressers, cabinets, and on and on!

Measurements: When he went to the doctor the other day he weighed just a little over 21 pounds. He fits really well into his 12 month clothes. A lot of the pants are long on him but I think that a lot of pants are too long for average length babies.

Milestones: He's still crawling everywhere - not quite ready to take that first step. He'll stand there and you would think he would step, but he just flops back onto his butt!

He still only has the 2 bottom teeth - which I guess isn't really a milestone, rather a growth. :)

The last week he has slept really well! I'm not sure if it's the Benadryl he's had, being sick, or just finally some good luck :) He has been going to bed at 7:30 like normal but he has slept until 4 or 6am! Hopefully while we're gone on vacation, he sleeps well for Aunt Lindsay!

He finally learned how to clap! And he gets so proud when he does it.

He's doing really well feeding himself. He is obviously messy, but I feel like he's not your normal 'baby' messy. It's probably because he likes to put his whole hand in his mouth, so he keeps them pretty clean!

Daily Schedule: Generally he wakes up around 7am, although lately he's slept til 8 or 8:30 but that's probably because he's been so sick. He eats breakfast right around then - usually yogurt and bananas. He still doesn't like eggs or oatmeal. He has had waffles a few times and really likes those too! Depending on when he woke up, I also feed him once in the morning.

He takes his first nap around 10am and it's usually 30-45 minutes.

We eat lunch about noon. I've been giving him more finger foods and he loves it! He likes fish sticks, Ritz crackers and goldfish, pizza, pretty much any kind of bread, most fruits, soft vegetables, and plenty other foods! If he sees you eating, he wants some too! I also feed him around lunch time.

He takes another nap around 2:30 and sleeps anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or two. He then takes another feeding around mid afternoon.

We eat dinner around 6pm - although sometimes he seems like he's ready to eat a little earlier which can actually be a little helpful for him to eat first.

I feed him around 7:15 and he is in bed by 7:30. He  has always been really good about going right to sleep once he's in his bed; bedtime and naptime!

Like I mentioned already, he pretty much sleeps until 4am now; a few nights he didn't wake up at all until 6am. And it was glorious.

Clint and I leave on Wednesday for 8 days in Hawaii. I haven't counted but I don't think I quite made it to 50 bottles of pumped milk but I'm pretty close! I may have made it had he not gotten so sick. He seemed to feed more for a week so it was hard to find the time (or energy) to pump extra. So he's going to have a few bottles supplemented with formula. And I'm ok with that. I'm hoping the time away doesn't mess with milk production. Not to mention how much I'll miss my little boys!!

Beckham: 47 Weeks

Wouldn't you know that little man is sick in both these pictures? Two Fridays ago I updated and Beckham had just gotten sick with a fever. He ended up with an ear infection. Over that weekend he was tired and puny. As the week went on he started having a lot of drainage and congestion. Then on Mother's Day he ended up with a lot of goop in his eyes. As the day went on it got worse so we ended up taking him to the Express Care and womp womp...double pink eye. We got eye drops and started them that night. The next day his eyes were already getting better though he was still snotty and wimpy. That evening he started having a really bad cough. Several times in the middle of the night he woke up with a croupy bark like cough, which we are familiar with since Parker has had croup several times. So we did the shower steam first and then in the early morning I sat with him outside. The next morning he had a fever again and was just dripping green snot! So we went back to the doctor and he had another ear infection :( The doctor said that if he gets another we may have to think about doing tubes since he's had 4 ear infections since January...well 5 if count the double one.

Today I think we are finally starting to get better. His nose is still runny but so much less than even yesterday. He hasn't had a fever in a couple of days and his eyes haven't had any drainage. I'm crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that we are finished with sickness in this house for a while!

In the past 2-3 weeks Beckham has had 4 goose eggs from standing or pulling up and then falling. He is such a(n innocent) troublemaker that I swear I'm always hovering over him so he doesn't crash and hurt his head again...so I bought one of these funny foam helmets. Parker is obsessed with making sure he's wearing it and Beckham could care less that it's on. So it's pretty much a win win all around - as long as he's wearing it. Because of course on Mother's Day, as soon as we got home from breakfast he bit the dust in the driveway and got a huge goose egg.

Beckham - 45 Weeks

Likes: throwing his toys on the floor (from his car seat, the stroller, the shopping cart, everywhere!), feeding the dog his food, getting into mischief, petting the dog, trying to pet the cat, bouncing, crawling after people, talking to people on the phone

Dislikes: being held very much, still doesn't like eggs

What's New in the Last Week: Well he developed another fever - 102.2 :( I ended up bring Parker to the doctor because his ear hurt and of course, another ear infection. He checked Beckham's ears and no infection yet. He gave me a prescription in case he gets worse this weekend, so I have my fingers crossed! **Well I wrote that this morning and then his fever went up to 103* so I called the doctor and he told me to go ahead and fill the prescription. So he started that tonight and still has a fever. Hopefully he'll start the upward swing tomorrow!

Other than that, he's just been exploring the entire house, chasing after Parker and trying to get everything he has! Parker is pretty good about that most of the time!

poor little sick sickie

so much sleeping this week

But there's a smile!

Drop it like it's hot!

Baby dino rain coat...that we've had to use so much this week!

Parker is really into "Man Against the Machine" by Garth Brooks, so he had to introduce Beckham to the song...clearly he liked it because he was gettin down!

We were all laying in bed resting due to being sick...so we were playing peekaboo! He kept pulling the blanket up but I couldn't really catch it on video.

Parker Update

I haven't done much of an update on Parker in forever other than his birthday party so I thought I'd share some things about him!

If you couldn't tell by his Lego birthday party, he is really into Legos!

Not only does he like playing with them, but he loves building the sets! Many of the sets he has, he built by himself! I'm so impressed that he can read the instructions and get the creations built right! There are some pieces he usually needs help with or figuring out the directions but otherwise he is really good at Legos!

He also likes building his own creations with just a bucket of bricks. For his birthday, I bought a cedar chest from Goodwill, sanded it, and painted it. Grandma Gail bought some Lego plates that  I glued to the top of the trunk, in addition to a bunch of extra plates for just building.

It came out pretty good!

Lately Parker has been really into writing and crafts. He loves to write cards for people. I bought a ton of blank cards and he has written many! He loves writing on the magna doodle, drawing pictures, painting, and cutting. He is obsessed with spelling lately! He wants to know how to spell everything! He loves cutting too.

He made crowns for him and Beckham.

He loves playing outside and we are both so glad the weather is better! We love going to the park, having picnics, playing on the playground, going to the creek, taking walks, and going for bike rides.

We love Hummel Park for the creek and bike trails!

We got a new wagon that is much comfier for two!

A little selfie video action in the bike trailer :)

(He's in the blue shirt.)

He has always been pretty adventurous! I was glad to see him socializing with other kids too! He can be shy at times.

He loves his brother!
He did gymnastics at Westside last spring and he was interested in going again this year. So I signed him for the 2nd spring session which ended last week and again for the first summer session. He really enjoys it and he is getting better!

Being at home this year is nice, because I got to sign him up for the daytime class! It is so much calmer during the day and the class is small.

He also did swim lessons at BDHS in March. He did well but it kind of was a chaotic session. I will probably look somewhere else next time.

Parker also loves working out in the basement, mostly with daddy but sometimes I get in there too. He can certainly show us a move or two ;)

Earlier this year I started checking out preschools and found one in Avon that I really liked called Apple House Preschool Cooperative. I was just a bit late on finding it because his age class was already full. However, he is the first kid on the waitlist so I am pretty confident he'll make it in. We took a tour a few weeks back and although he wanted to stay in the car while I went it, he ended up really liking it!

He went straight to the name writing station when they started free time :)

They planted seeds that day and let Parker do one too. I cracked up at how he wrote all the letters backwards because he had to write it vertically!
If you remember when we redid the bedrooms last spring, we bought Parker a new bed that was actually a bunk bed. We had the intentions of putting them together once Beckham was bigger. Well, Parker really wanted them together now. He really thought Beckham was going to be able to sleep on the bottom since he can stand in his crib but we explained that he's still too small :)
yep, just a tad too small ;)

He fell asleep watching me sit in the rocking chair :)
Parker has always been a big book lover! He really enjoys reading alone and also now with Beckham.

Now just some hodge podge pics and vids...

He LOVES helping cook!!

Clint has been working in Bloomington for a while so we met him for lunch and visited the Wonderlab. It was a lot of fun!
